Super Bowl LVI

We love a good tradition.

Since meeting our friends Jennifer and Adam we’ve now spent 4 Super Bowls together with our families and a sprinkling of other friends. We always have the best time watching the game, dancing our asses off during halftime and eating delicious food. Want to know the the best part though? Since we all have kids no one gets upset when we leave after halftime. It’s a win/win here folks.

Speaking of delicious food here was this years line up…

  • Vegan Queso
  • Skyline Chili Dip
  • Sausage Balls
  • Vegan Buffalo Dip
  • Tofu Nuggets
  • Chicken Wings
  • Walking Tacos
  • Bumpy Cake
  • Peanut Butter “Cheese” Ball
  • Cookies

We don’t skimp on food when we all get together. Thankfully we have husbands that LOVE to cook and trust me, we reap that benefit. We also like to include healthy game day options because they’re delicious and it doesn’t hurt to lighten a few options up every now and again. At the end of the day the food is the shining star at most of our get-togethers and most peoples favorite part.

Literally the only food photo I got this year.
You’re welcome.

Next up, the halftime show. This years halftime show made me want to strap on a pair of roller skates and head to the local skate way because y’all this performance was NOSTALGIC. Dr. Dre, Snoop Dog, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar and 50 Cent did a phenomenal job. I’m really glad they stuck to their personal plans and essentially told the halftime show planners “screw you” and preformed and shared their stances in their own creative ways. Bravo!

The other part of this little tradition is seeing the kids grow up together and have fun. With the pandemic things have been rough on everyone, bit especially the kiddos. Jennifer and Adam were our main “pod” people and essentially became our family when we weren’t interacting with our own. The bonds these kids have made are so sweet and I hope they continue to lean on each other as the years move forward. I mean, Charlotte and their son Oliver are basically betrothed. 😂

All in all I think we pulled off another successful Super Bowl party. We’re so grateful for Jennifer and Adam for hosting this shindig every year and for going along with it since they aren’t your typical football fans. They are fans of friendship though and I know Kyle and I are super grateful for having them in our lives.
